Registration

Classes are allocated by the school management. After entry, students are obliged to attend classes regularly. If a student is unable to attend, the secretary’s office or the teacher must be informed. Excused missed lessons can only be made up in parallel classes within the current quarter, if possible. Transfer to a higher class takes place according to the decision of the school management. The school has the right to refuse students at any time without giving reasons.

School fees

Tuition fees are to be paid in advance at the beginning of the quarter. Tuition fees will only be deducted from the next quarterly invoice in the case of longer absences (4 weeks or more), provided that the school office is notified in advance of any longer absences. In order to keep the quarterly bills as low as possible, the school fees must also be paid during the holidays, as is generally the case.

Clothing

The instructions of the teachers regarding training clothing are to be followed. Jewellery and watches do not belong in the ballet class.

Visiting days

Visiting days are set during the school year when parents can attend classes. In the interest of an undisturbed school day, third parties are only allowed to attend classes with the express permission of the teacher.

Holidays

The school is closed during the summer and Christmas holidays. Ballet classes take place during the other school holidays.

Insurance

The Zurich Opera House Ballet School does not have any student accident insurance. Accident insurance is the private responsibility of the parents or students. The Ballet School accepts no liability for theft of any kind.

Withdrawal / Cancellation

Notice of withdrawal/termination must be given in writing to the school or school management at least one month before the end of the current quarter, i.e. by 30 November per 31 December / by 28 February per 31 March / by 31 May per 30 June / by 31 August per 30 September. If the cancellation is received later, the school fees must be paid for a further quarter.
