The focus of the school is to provide the children with optimal ballet lessons from a pedagogical and medical point of view.
Classical ballet has proven to be a great form of physical training for children. Postural errors are eliminated, self-confidence is strengthened, regardless of whether the ballet training should remain just a hobby or the child later aspires to professional training.
Children between the ages of 4 and 6 are introduced to the dance movement in a playful way. Musical and rhythmic talents are encouraged and developed in the lessons.
Participation of the students in performances of the Zurich Opera House
The close cooperation with the Zurich Opera House results in another important component for the students of the ballet school for the Zurich Opera House. They have the opportunity – even the youngest ones – to acquire stage experience and realistic contact with the theater, since they are drawn on to appear in operas, operettas and ballet performances at the Zurich Opera House.
In addition, school performances take place annually in the Zurich Opera House.
If desired, children can take ballet exams every year and put their skills to the test. They have the opportunity to take all Royal Academy of Dance children’s grades from Pre-Primary to Grade V. Advanced students are prepared for the following Royal Academy of Dance exams: Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced I, Advanced II, Solo Seal.
Doris Catana-Beriozoff prepares talented students for the Migros scholarship, the entrance exam for the art and sports school, entrance exams for internationally recognized ballet schools and ballet Prepared for competitions.
Evening courses for adult amateurs take place every day.
